In 2023, she rediscovered what was believed to be
the only set of matrices of Hong Kong Type extant
in the world.
The fascinating stories of these types and artifacts
were shown in the 2025 exhibition “Through Time
– Print Art in Aberdeen Street” curated by Yung.
It took place at HKOP’s newest exhibition and
workshop space, Print Art Contemporary, a location
only steps from the original location of the AngloChinese College.
The stories are also told in Yung’s book, Two
Hundred Years of Hong Kong Type, published in
the same year. The history of Hong Kong Type is
essentially stories of the lives of Chinese people
and Hong Kong’s position as a center for
cultural convergence.

On the importance of preserving this history, Yung
said, “We are not aiming to revive the industry to its
previous commercial function, but we hope that it
will become a part of cultural education and a bridge
to connect history, design, memory
and technology.”
